Dear Mom

I have so much to say to you. We had quite a complicated relationship when you were alive. More and more, I find myself so grateful for knowing that you loved me. There was no doubt. In my youngest years you aware my absolute favorite person to be with. Thank you for creating a household that I knew I belonged in. Thank you so much for wanting to be a mom and doing it the best way you knew. I loved making the jello. I loved ironing Dad’s handkerchiefs and graduating to his work shirts. I still remember the lesson on how to go around the buttons and do the collars. I loved putting the chicken in on Fridays at 3pm. I loved sitting at the kitchen table in the morning, just you and me, drinking our ‘coffee’. Because of you I grew up amongst all those St. Bernards and having all those puppies. We had a fun place to live. As I talk with more and more people, they did not have the obvious care that you offered me. Thank you, thank you,, thank you for that.
