My personal thoughts

right now

Here in the US more than ever, it is starkly apparent that we live in a country built upon thousands of years of dominator thinking, and founded on inequity. It's no wonder that after centuries of conditioned power-over thinking, we are still struggling to see meaningful change to this deep cultural wound. Perhaps you have been on a committed anti-racist path a long time, or maybe you are recently roused from sleep by current events to begin the work in earnest.   Whatever the case may be, now is a moment to become active in our solidarity.

In addition to making donations or protesting, calling our senators and mayors, paying reparations, other crucial interventions and actions, or simply praying for a better world, this shift will require us to understand that racism is not only an outer condition to remediate, but a way of being we have internalized and must now unlearn. Our capacity to show up for liberation is directly connected to what happens within yourself.  In addressing dominator thinking, inner work and relationship work are important parts of the puzzle. How are you embodying the shift from power-over to power-with?

I encourage you to consider this time we are living in and and how you think about these topics as an opportunity rather than a challenge.

If you're ready to address these intimate layers of liberation, please participate in any of our classes based in nonviolent communication and other modalities. We intend to continue our own deep dive in exploring our contributions to the world we see now, and develop more and more skills to talk with anyone and everyone about what we uncover. Join us as we offer tools you can apply immediately in your own life and community relationships to bring healing justice to life.
