Language of Life Workshop
An Introduction to Nonviolent Communication*
NVC gives us access to compassion we were previously unaware of by connecting us to our deepest life energy and that of others. Through the awareness of and connection to needs, values and "what we all want in life," we become less aligned with our conflicting strategies, thoughts and judgments and we become more aligned with the endless possibilities of all life.
In this workshop we will go over the fundamentals of non-violent communication. We present opportunities to practice these fundamentals. We will spend time on key elements of NVC: empathy, needs, feelings, demands, requests, observation vs. evaluation as well the purpose and value it serves in all types of relationships.
We will provide you with skills to use NVC in your daily lives. These skills emphasize personal responsibility for your actions and the choices you make when you respond to others, as well as how to contribute to relationships based in cooperation and collaboration.
Nonviolent Communication* Practice Group
These gatherings are to help us integrate our learning into real life. NVC skills are often readily understood, yet they can be challenging to use when we need them the most. By using practice exercises, role plays and sharing our struggles and successes with one another, Practice Groups provide the content and support to help us develop and use the skills to practice Nonviolent Communication in our daily lives.
